What's your.......

oldest piece of clothing?

My ex got me a dressing gown to wear in hospital when I went in to have our1st . He turns 30 in a few months.

So think it's well past time I donated it someone in need, as it's still too good to toss. Or I could donate it to the museum of dressing gowns.

Don't know how many of you have seen either of The Stepford Wife movies (I've only seen the original one), but it would fit in nicely. A nice shade of light blue with a ruffle collar, and a piece of pink ribbon to top it off.

So with great sadness, it's in a bag ready to drop off at one of the charity bins. I'm sure it will be snapped up in no time.

Hm...I think I have a skirt that is about 12 years old...lol.

I'm amazed and impressed that you have a garment that is 30 years old and in such good condition! Wow!

!2 years is pretty good.

I do have another dressing gown, only used the old one in past years if the other one had been washed but not dried.

Yeah, 30 makes me feel old too. The youngest is 28.

My belt buckle is about 37 years old, and gets wore every day. I have dress boots that were bought in 1986, I only wear them to weddings and funerals. Ha ha

When I was in high school (during the "gas crisis") I worked at a Mobil gas station and they supplied shirts, pants, jackets and clip-on ties. The pants were junk and are long gone. The ties were used as rags conveniently hung right in front. The jacket was kinda cool and I still have one but haven't worn it in a long time. The shirts . . . must be made of some sort of indestructible stuff. I still have 3 that I use when outdoors doing projects. They are a bit tight now but do button up.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I have a pair of running shorts that are about 23 or 24 yrs old. The kind where the waist is a bit below the hips and the inseam is 3 or 4 inches. I prefer them to the kind one finds today, an Urkle rise and 9inch inseam.

If you see me in the real world, come say "Hi Justskin."

I always behave. Preferably not well.

No wonder your dress boots are still able to be worn. Are you wearing them in your pic?

I remember clip on ties. Wonder if they are still being sold?

If the shirts get too tight, you can still wear them just opened with a t-shirt. No need to throw a good shirt out.

Your wife would have liked my dressing gown. It would have fitted in quite well.

Maybe you can show us a pic of you wearing the shorts. I like the sound of the waist being a bit below the hips.

    No I don't wear it.

It's stashed away here somewhere and in fact I had forgotten about it until your post made me think of it.
Did you find any other treasures you'd forgotten about?

I have a bunch of stuff to go through, stuff that I cleared from my mother's house.
I expect there may be some keepsakes / treasures among those items.
Just haven't gotten to them yet.
I hope you find lots of treasures and fond memories.

I'm amazed they've lasted that long, with all the hard work you put into your garden.

Nice to see you back.

Yes, got a new one before passing my old one on. All ready for the cold weather coming, but I prefer the cold to the 40+ day after day we had.

When I arrived in California in the summer of '85 it was cooler than I expect in San Diego, where my ship was homeported. At the Banana Republic, in the now longtime gone downtown mall, whose name escapes me, I purchased a cream cable knit sweater that has pretty much gone all over the world and has retired with me to Toledo Ohio. I don't wear it often but I do wear it.
