My Dad the same way. He'd do the Inside & the outside.
Wished I'd payed more attention.
I suck at it & he's passed so I can't ask for his advice.

I still paint the inside every 3 years and for the most part it is a mind relaxing exercise. And it is a pain going up the stairs where the ceiling is almost 20 feet high.

I goes to great lengths to be sure I select the right color for each room. In some rooms, wallpaper seems to be more fitting, and I go to great lengths to match the wallpaper to the room, and the ceiling paint to the wallpaper. Some rooms are perfect, and haven't been repainted in 30 years. A few years ago, I repainted my office because I built a new desk, file cabinets, and bookcases. I stained all of them a medium oak color, so I chose a light green for the walls, and a cream color for the ceiling. It looks perfect, and I've received nothing but positive remarks on it. I really don't like painting, so I make sure the color I choose will be OK for a long time. I usually try several different colors in several different shades.... I'll paint a 2'x2' square on the walls of each color and shade then take a few days before I decide. I built this house 40 years ago then added a "man" room 22 years ago. So far, I've only repainted a room once because I didn't like how the color I'd selected.

I love painting inside! Sometimes the prep worked sucked, so I learned to be really patient painting around the wood work and had less taping to do, lol. Being in an apartment, no painting for me. I'm okay with that, the walls are a creamy sand color, and I like it.

I went to the beach yesterday afternoon. I got there late in the day, so a lot of people were leaving...which made it really peaceful. It definitely wasn't hot, but the sun felt great and I had a nice little nap listening to the waves.

Painting walls is an art that you like to do, mixing paints to find the ideal color is one of the things that I love doing this chemistry that looks beautiful when it comes to the color that you like! now paint in uniform that you quoted in the pictures, I had never thought!

I change he colors on average about every 3-4 years. I don’t mind- the new color changes fixed me some fresh ideas on What I want to upgrade.

Lol, who wouldn't enjoy painting with painters like that!! I am kind of meh on painting, especially overhead. Hate the taping and covering of everything. I do it as must do kind of thing, not something that I look forward to.

Nah not a great fan of painting as I always make a hash of it.

Unfortunately I was cleaning the bike today and got some oily spots on the spare bedroom wall so that's another thing I'll have to paint now.

Happy Sunday J. I hope your enjoying a peaceful one. I don't paint as the managers take care of that. But I have painted before and it can be an extremely grueling job sometimes.

Your fireplace must be of a non vented type for it to discolor the paint, painting is easy, the key is to not get in a hurry, be patient. with a bit of practice you can trim paint and minimize the amount of tape needed, taping is a hassle, but some places it is needed, plenty of cover-ups on the floor and a long extendable handle on the roller will make a big difference.. be sure to vacuum the top of the window and door trim, that dust and paint make a mess. Enjoy the spring weather, we are into max pollen season here..

I'm not a painter...inside or outside!
I might get into painting if I had a helper dressed like that first photo!

Not a fan of painting inside, and then only when it is really necessary - less than once in a blue moon

The weekend sure did fly by, no new snow here... we still have enough, although it is beginning to melt nicely. Some areas more than others. Here we get a bit of fog with tends to help that white crap disappear.

I did a bit of spring cleaning myself.

I might want to paint more often if I got to look at those painters... lol. I use to like to paint, however, my back will not allow me to do it like I used to. Small paint jobs I can do... the entire house... not going to happen.

The apartment I am in now doesn't allow for much color but I might have to break that rule a bit just because I want a little splash of color here and there.

Dang, you even make the thought of painting erotic and fun! All seriousness I do work in the area, just finished a job on the MA, RI line. Maybe we should whisper in each other’s ear?

    Quoting  :

When the kids were younger my daughter decided she wanted a yellow and purple room (I mean Sunshine Yellow and deep purple)... lol... I didn't bother to ask the landlord because I knew what his response was going to be. And I was correct ... lol... he was pissed when he saw it. I told him not to worry it would be back to a neutral color before I moved out and it was.
